Waffles
« on: August 22, 2011, 17:30 »
Was watching H.F.whatisface yesterday and a snippet on waffles came on, it instantly gave me a craving for waffles with chocolate sauce ... funny I didn't feel the same way about his broccoli segment  ::)

Does anyone know anything about them? I don't fancy parting with too much hard earn cash so is there a was of making nice homemade waffles on the cheap?

Just had a quick look on Amazon - you can get a cheapy waffle maker for £14 ... I think you'd struggle to make a waffle without something to create the pattern.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

:( thought that was going to be the case.

I'll just get some of those nasty synthetic things from the supermarket then, just to take the edge off the hankering.  There really isn't room in the kitchen for another gadget.

Keep an eye out for the £9.99 Aldi/Lidl waffle maker, it comes up once a year in the kitchen gadgets deals.. very simple to use, we often make them for breakfast at the weekend with the wafflemaker on the table.

Pumpkin waffles are amazingly delicious, they get that rich sweetness of the pumpkin flesh through the batter.. .

I agree, a waffle maker is the way. There was one at home and it was great to knock up a batch of mix and make waffles.  :D

Lardman says he has no room for another appliance in his kitchen though.  ::)

On the other hand, there is probably some sort of form or shape available to put on a griddle pan and pour your mix into turning once cooked on one side......

Yes, that's the sort of thing I meant, but was hoping for an individusl one and therefore even smaller.  :)

The stove-top model is as big as the electric one..

And you can't use the stove-top one on the breakfast table between the newspapers, the cheese and the jam..
