What next after potatoes?
« on: August 17, 2011, 17:22 »
Can anyone help. I live in a city with a patio garden, I have grown a small crop of potatoes in a couple of grow sacks (not plastic grow bags). Now I've harvested them what can I sow now to grow from now to Christmas?

Welcome to the site  :D

Whereabouts are you?  That might be relevant to the answer, but you could try salad leaves, spring onions, pak choi, beetroot, carrots (early or autumn varieties for quick cropping).

If you want to do overwintering onions (ready in Spring) or garlic (ready in summer) then they will go in over the next month or two.

You might get overwintering brassicas (cabbages, broccoli etc) as plants to go in now too.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

You could try mixed salad leaves

There are quite a few different ones to choose from and they keep going for ages  :)

Perhaps you could edit your profile so that London shows all the time as your location. Just click your username to the left on any post you have made.  :)

You could try rainbow chard too, beautiful colours on the plate and should grow happily well into the winter.  :D
