Could you update your profile to show your location, please?

That will help us to answer your question.

fully support the recommendation for Ken Muir, all my fruit trees and soft fruit are from them - one plum died and they replaced it FOC and the new one and everything else was fine and is producing well. Good advice on their webpages and in catalogues etc. So follow their directions carefully.

All my fruit has been from Ken Muir and it's been wonderful quality. I had issues with a rather scrawny (not up to usual standard) blueberry and they sent me another in 2 days after I talked to the son on the phone. He also gave me lots of tips!!
Unfortunately Ken has recently passed away but I'm confident the business is in good hands.

Awww, didn't realise Ken had died!  We used to live near the nursery, so that's where my fruit trees in our last house came from.

A VERY knowledgeable man!  Hope his son keeps up the good work!

For those looking for something cheaper,
http://www.gardenbargains.com/c-trefruit-fruits/plants/fruits/tree-fruit.htm

I've seen that site, I've got no idea about the quality of the product but its damn cheap.

Here's the page with Apple, Pear, Plum and a FREE Cherry tree..........
http://www.gardenbargains.com/item-500131/mini-orchard-collection-with-free-cherry.htm?Media=AFFLINKS&awc=2833_1312823188_1453722b1683b94dc9ad89476a783207

And all for 30 quid

I stick with people I know now because I've had bad experiences with several sites. I've found you get what you pay for......cheap trees are probably just a year old  and it's a long wait for fruit.
That saying....I bought some small trees from Lidl a few years ago for £1.50 each and although I lost both the apples because I had to move them and the greengage was a purple plum (shame!!) the pear and both plums have grown well and I got a branch-bending crop off the "greengage."

I bought some trees from Lidl, two Bramleys, a plum and a cherry. The Bramleys turned out to be red eating apples and were grubbed up, the plum has yet to fruit and only the cherry has had what was expected. I'd steer clear if you want to avoid wasting a lot of effort and get them from a nursury such as Ken Muir.

I got all of mine from Focus (before they shut down) had quite a few off them over the years and all thriving.  The reason I got them from there was because they were so much cheaper than the catalogues and being a single parent - I just couldn't afford some of the prices. :)
