Lobelia Cardinalis
« on: August 08, 2011, 20:59 »
H All,

I'm looking for some help.  Last nights wind and rain knocked my Lobelia Cardinalis to the ground breaking the stem and leaving just a stump and two little leaves.

Does anyone know how to propagate another plant from the stem that is now lying limp?  There are no seeds as the plant was in bloom.

Absolutely beautiful, I've wanted this plant for years, only bought recently from Bickham House.

I hope someone can help.
Thank you.

That's bad luck :(
It's usually propagated by devision once the plant has reached a large enough size.
Your plant should grow again from the roots though, so all may not be lost

Thanks Mum,
I've put some of the side shoots in water, who knows I may be lucky?
Thanks again.
