hi, i am quite new to keeping chicken and recently had a my light susex hen go broody for the first time, i bought some fertile eggs for her to sit on as i dont have a cockerel and i have had 3 hatch today,she has made a mess in the coup as she wouldn't leave the eggs today,will this be harmfull to the chicks and or any unhatched eggs ?

If you can try to remove as much of the poo as possible. Wipe any eggs with care with a soft cloth and  then leave Mum and eggs well alone.

agree with Orchardlady on this - clean as much up as you can and fingers crossed all will be well

thank you so much for your help will try and clean her up as much as i can in the morning, smells pretty bad though

are you sure it is poo? One of our broodies sat on an egg that wasn't fertile and when she hatched the one she broke the unfertile one - it stank! we took out the remains, cleaned up a bit and she (and chick) was fine,
