Greenhouse on Ebay
« on: August 03, 2011, 22:07 »
Hi all,

I have just built my shed, so now am looking at a greenhouse - haven't yet worked out what i really need one for, apart from growing tomatoes.  All this putting in pots, growing on - can't I just put the seed in the ground!  Okay, I know, better plants and all that....  Anyway, to the question - I was looking at the  Billy0h - 3000M from garden buildings direct

http://www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Metal-Greenhouses/BillyOh-3000M-Hobby-Silver-Polycarbonate-Greenhouse

greenhouse and almost decided when I saw this one on ebay -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREENHOUSE-8-X-6-POLYCARBONATE-BASE-NEW-/180556946932?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Structures_Fencing_CV&hash=item2a0a085df4#ht_7310wt_1025

Do any of you have either?  any comments or suggestions?
(sorry, haven't worked out how to put in links properly)

I was looking at Gardenbuildingsdirect when I first got a plot, but then found a 12x8 for £50 on a listings site....then got a free 8x6 off freegle...then bought a lovely 6x6 for £100 2nd hand on ebay....

it's all down to whether you have the patience to wait for the bargains that turn up, and can face the prospect of dismantling and moving a 2nd hand one....

Depends on your pocket and site really. The polycarbonate ones work fine, I have a lean to one. But it is on the drive at the side of the house, a wind tunnel, so if we have a gale we end up with panels everywhere. On the upside, they don't break easily and are easy to replace. The frame is possibly not the strongest, you get what you pay for really. But it does me! :D

I'm note sure if I've posted this before, but I've managed to secure polycarb panels on one of the ghouses with sections of aluminium shower rail (inherited with the plot) fixed in the frame half-way up. Works a treat...
