Clipping brambles...
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:12 »
We're nearly over-run with brambles in the hedge next to 'Plot Growster', and while the blackberries are enormous this year, I'm regularly giving them a few severe clops to tell them who's in charge.

Can I assume that these clippings are compostable? They usually spread by self-layering, but there's an awful lot of bits in the compost bin at the moment, and I'm definitely not climbing in to sort them out... I mean, I was wearing shorts down there this morning - can't let the side down (or the end for that matter...);0)

They'll be on the woody side, so I'd tend to bonfire them if you can. :)

Thanks all, the clippings are reduced to bite sizes, as they're very soft.

One bramble appeared inside the shed, having found a way though a hole in the eaves! Frightened the life out of me seeing this Triffid just about to pounce...!
