Good afternoon,

I've noticed that the ex-battery hens I got last month don't bother stamping a sell by date on the eggs for me.
I have asked them about it and they grumbled something about "we don't work for Tescos anymore...."

So how long do the eggs keep in reasonably good eating condition?
I'm sure I know a bad egg when I crack it but I was just wondering in case I give some to family and friends?
Is it a couple of weeks? Maybe more?

I usually advise people who have my eggs to consume them within 3 weeks, but they do keep longer

Before eating them if you put them in water, if they float they're bad =)
But you can only do that if you're just about to eat them, because they're porous so if you put them in water then try to keep them bacteria will have been introduced and they will go bad
