Lovely topic!  :D
[boring mode ON]
Just keep in mind, that hybrids and GE crops is sort of "copyright" to control not only taste and size of veges, but fertility as well. I don't think it's possible to get same crops from that seeds, but you can keep your own selection and choose the best plants for your plot. That is the main point.

Another thing, which you have to keep in mind - hybrids and GE are made for "exactly type of soil" to get "as promised" result. So, you have to buy all that magic granules and liquids to keep going. Guess from who?  :D And this is not conspiracy LOL It's just business
[boring mode OFF]

I definately will do tomatoes seeds this year and capsicum.

Chilly? Hybrid?! Are you kidding? You can easily get your own hybrid of capsicum and chilly if they grown close(something like 50 or even 100 meters of open space). It will looks like capsicum, but tastes like chilly  :D

Beans? I don't think so.

Corn? Who cares about vareity of corn apart from you growing pop-corn and your lovely neiborough growing sweet corn. Here might be surprizes  :D

Cucumber - question mark. Need more shared info.

Well, anyway.... Will watch this thread.
