I have discovered this superb site with excellent information on chilli and pepper seed germination and growing from the USA.

For those of you who, like me, dream of sweet pointed red peppers.

just had very quick look at this, dont fancy the idea of washing my seeds in hydrogen peroxide.
Would all my chillis and peppers end up blonde bimbo's :(
I want clever plants that grow quickly, chase off the aphids and mites themselves and then produce lots of fruit :D :D

Some books I've read advocate washing the seeds in a diluted bleach solution which seems extreme but this is one way of softening the hard case around the seed embryo apparently.

I shall stick to soaking them in camomile tea which is more in keeping with my outlook on life......man.

I have learned the need to be sooo patient with peppers. More so than most other things out of the stuff i grow.

I have now got several of my greenhouse pepper plants with large green fruit on, and some other varieties flowering.  Last year it was mid-Aug when I had my first red pepper but then they went on until the frosts, and I froze about 40 red peppers whole, straight from the plant, along with some of the chillies. And used the last of the peppers the other week with some chillies for part of the base of my favourite curry paste
