When to cut back Raspberries

I am growing in the back yard and dont have much room. I have had all the fruit of the raspberries

and was wondering when I chould cut it down and by how much? Its going a bit mad at the minute.

I take it that this is a summer fruiting one then.

That being the case, cut out all the canes that have fruited and leave the new growth. They're the canes on which you'll get next year's fruit. If you chop them about you won't get any.

And carefully does it -- if they are anythng like mine they are very prickly

Nothing worse than a Raspberry with an attitude!

Thanks for the tips everyone. Ill get to it in the morning and watch out for the ones with attitude.
