Hi

I have come home from work today to find one of my hens looking sorry for herself. She has a bit of a dirty bottom and clear liquid is coming out of her bottom.

I have been worming my hens this week, I begun the worming process on Friday, so this is day 6. I am worming with flubenvet and have not fed anything other than the treated layer pellets to my hens.

I tried to temp her with a mealworm and being the more pushy hen of the 2, I can tell something isn't right because she wasn't interested.

What is wrong with my poorly hen and what can I do to help her?

I forgot to mention that she has laid an egg this morning and has been laying regularly as well. Was a normal egg, no soft shell.

!! PANIC OVER!!

I picked Tallulah up and gave her bottom area a gentle massage.  Left her for 15 minutes, just gone back outside to check on her and there is a perfectly formed egg yolk on the floor.

I showed her another mealworm and she was back to her usual pushy self as she snatched it from my fingers.

Hi thats good news - but keep a close eye on her to make sure that it has all come out - if not she will need antibiotics to prevent infections from setting in
