going away for a week should I water before I go?
« on: July 24, 2011, 11:32 »
I am going away for a week this evening as it is a last minute thing I have made no arrangements for plot watering.  Is it worth soaking the whole plot this afternoon before I go or will it just evaporate away making no odds later in the week?
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

If you water it will rain all week. If you do not it will be a scorcher.

Any watering you do is sure to be beneficial. Even with the rain we`ve had lately, I still water the runner beans every time I`m at the plot. Was doing it on Tuesday in the pouring rain.
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

Watering will be good, especially for courgettes & beans & tomatoes  :D

Leave the root veg, they will be fine  :)

When you water - water !  Don't tease it.  It is amazing just how shallow the depth of moist earth even after what you think is an olympic swimming pool worth of water has been applied ! ! !    Cheers,   Tony.

Snap!  :) Except we've suddenly decided to go away from mid-week.

I've been panicking, but decided to give everything a good soaking before we go and hope for the best. Probably come back to foot long courgettes and cucumbers!
