And thats as far as ive got so far, the plan is to put a white tree rose in the centre of the circular lawn, then plants all the way around the border, im thinking about using soft pastelly colours, with a range of heights, using plants like hydrangas, roses, fuscia, etc, not decided properly yet, any suggestions? :)

I think it looks wonderful  :D

Just one comment, you haven't put the level of the path near the house at a height that will breach the damp proof course, have you?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Thanks, and nope I put the slate below the damp proof  course, its above the air vents which have been also boxed off to stop slate getting kicked in :D

That's a splendid job you're doing Jamie :)

Thanks Aunt Sally :D

The inside circle has been done today, the white tree rose will go in the centre circle, but wont be able to be planted till october when they are ready to plant  :)

Not sure whether the York Minster rose will be available to buy in the autumn?  That's cream / white, I think.

I've grown lavender from seed and put it in my garden as edging, perhaps worth considering.  Pastel colours tend to be found in cottage garden designs, see if you can get a book with designs in the library.

Thats something youve reminded me to mention, I am planning on havving lavender sweep along the edge of the path and fall over it a bit to mask the concrete paving slabs, it would tie the garden and path together and inkeeping with the theme, so good suggestion :D :D

Thanks mate, neither can I, the estimated finish date in friday next week (But that excludes planting) :)

white tree rose? do you mean the Standard ones grown on a stem like a lollipop?
Not all varieties are available in this shape.

David Austin rose Winchester Cathedral is a nice white one for a lollipop :)
