White fly on tomatoes

Yesterday I removed a some leaves from my tomato plants as they were covering the tomatoes and I wanted the sun to be able to get at them. Anyway I have lots of whitefly on the tomato plants which I have treated with the old soapy water. However my question is - if I was to put the tomato leaves in the compost bin would the white fly survive the winter and have a head start next year. 

That is what I was thinking, Yorkie. I put the leaves in the council "green" bin because I did not want to risk causing even more problems. Where have all of these aphids and white fly come from this year. I have not seen it so bad for a long time.
