New asparagus beds

I was getting a bit concerned about the bed I set up earlier this year. I mulched the bed a week ago with an inch deep with shredded comfrey leaves. I scrapped some back earlier to see what was happening and its gone absolutely mental !  Most of the crowns seem to have 4-5 stems coming up about as fat as my thumb 

Id certainly recommend it if anyone has a wimpy looking bed.

How did you shred the comfrey - did you use a shredder or a more manual method?

All done by hand.

Picked the leaves - rolled them up and sliced away with a big kitchen knife - took a while but I found it very therapeutic.

Sounds like my comfrey leaves will be picked soon and julienned
