MKH - you can always buy an outdoor extension cord and stretch your boundary another 10M or so.

Well it arrived and Ive given it a go.I am going to need a lot of practice but I will get there in the end.
It ran over the surface and jumps up and down like a horse.
After a couple of trys I got it to dig and after 3 passes it had turned my heavy clay into a nice tilthe.
But as a wheel barrow it is no good for me.It only has one speed,no slow start, its off like a greyhound. The minute you press the handle your away.
If I could walk that fast I would not be disabled.A lighter person on sticks would be draged away.My OH has not stopped laughing.
I am glad I bought it and will get the hang of it if it does not kill me first.

Richy that makes me feel so much better,
With all my gardening I have never resorted to a rotavater before.Mostly because I could dig all day without much bother, and because in the early days they were only really meant for very large areas.
This is my first one and it is the least powerful you can get,but it works, and I shall grow even better plants next season

Bye the bye the instructions say dont try to hold it back,if I did not I would be on the M1 and on my way to your part of the world by now

Yes and its a lot better.I also found a skid that fits over the end of the spike.I also added a little more sand in the removeable weight box. This sits over the tines to help them dig in.The instructions state no need for the weight when on heavy clay, but I found that it helps.

Ive prepaired my 2 raised beds and will now cover for winter.I am growing 80 head of brassicas on another. So should have a good start to the season
