i grew some marketmore in the greenhopuse this year, and some tasted lovely, some bitter, i'm thinking that the nasty ones may have been the real long ones, does leaving them to grow too long make them bitter then?

So what is happening when cucumbers go yellow?
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Can somebody kindly please explain the whole cucumber burping thing to me? Do they burp, or do they make you burp when you eat them??? I'm totally confused, as someone did say belch, hence the *buuurrrpppp* sound? Or is it another meaning totally?
Jac

Trying organic gardening. Hoping to stick to it.

Just been to the greenhouse to check - all's quiet there!

They don't have that effect on me, but when you've heard Mrs. Digger after eating cucumber you'll realise what a burp is!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
