all my cabbages seem to have grown like this,  anyone any ideas to what went wrong

What variety are they and when did you plant/sow them?

cant judge the height of the plant.
if it is 4-6 inch tall they are very good looking and expect a good crop.
if it is 2 feet tall they have gone spindly and probably will bolt.

Those don't even appear to be cabbage leaves, more like broccoli or possibly kohlrabi.
