chickweed
« on: June 21, 2011, 10:10 »
Where on earth is it all coming from this year?

Yesterday I pulled 2 buckets worth from my blueberry  8x4 raised bed, which fair enough I don't hoe as its netted - but its only been a fortnight since I cleared it out last time !

I've not seen many of the usual suspects this year, creeping butter cup, dock , nettle or even bindweed just carpets of chickweed with the occasional clump of couch grass in

At least it is an annual, and as long as you get it up before it goes to seed you can add it to the compost bin   :) :)

Yes me  :D  ::) I tip the buckets into their run, wish they'd get it themselves though. I did try once to allow them accesses but they found my veg far more tasty than the weeds. I have the worlds most cantankerous chickens.

Im not eating it !   thats just wrong !
