They had Magnum Bonham this year, I could always get it for you next year if they still have it, as I've enough peas & tomatoes!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I have purple podded too.  They're great - so pretty and very tall.  The pods are just beginngin to swell now.  Maybe try them next week.....
DD how shall I harvest the seed please? Do I leave them on the plant for ages???
I'm doing peas for the first time and we're eating Oasis now...

Thanks DD for the helpful advice.  I'd not heard of the Heritage Seed Library before.  It sounds a very worthwhile organisation and I am already looking at what I can order when I become a member.

I am growing Purple Podded Peas, and they are beautiful. The flowers start off lilac in colour and turn to pink.
I started them off in my mini greenhouse then planted them outside in two rows between canes.
They are about 6ft tall at the moment and the pea pods have formed and are growing well.

and they are only days away from being ready, the champion seem to be slightly sweeter from a few first tastes.
