How do you make raised ridges?
« on: September 10, 2007, 19:21 »
help, garlic is here and recommendations say I should be putting on ridges. Every time I hoe down the middle it collapses, but I know it will be hard clay in winter.

Which tool do I use to make ridges?

Easy guide please, cos I want to look as if I know what I'm doing to impress OH and next door?

Ridges on clay would be a good plan (or raised beds?).

For ridges, use a draw hoe to create ridges 18-20" wide (ideally over the top of a row of rotted manure or compost).  This would give room for 3 rows of garlic
