When will it pause ??????????????
« on: June 19, 2011, 10:33 »
The wind that is, here in Cardiff it has been windy constantly for about 6 weeks and not just a light breeze either, yesterday it was so strong I was putting extra secures on my green house and when  I got home the wife had the heating on.

Cant wait for warm June.

The wind has been my biggest concern because I had stuff in the greenhouse which needed to be hardened off not shredded.  Now that it's eased up to tolerable levels, it's too cold to put the plants outside  :nowink:  Can't win LOL

A windless day. What's that  :)

Very rare we get that down here just a few miles from Dungeness.

Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long ..........................

I'm so cheesed off with the weather. Raining since April up here and cool. Can't remember a day since April when it hasn't been wet cool and windy for at least part off the day. And don't get me started on the cold nights.

Been trying to clear a weedy plot. The plan was to use Glyphosate, let top growth die back and strip it then respray to get the rest of the couch grass etc. It is too much to dig and weed thoroughly by hand on my own.

The weather has completely scuppered my plans  :(

Down here it's April today... sun and threats of showers and windy too.

I think I might get the seed catalogues out and dream of a perfect year to come  ::)

Iv just checked our 5 day forecast and might top myself. Heavy rain all day today and same up to Saturday. It's been doing this since April. This is no way to live!!!

You guys down south shouldn't complain - Iv just turned on Wimbledon and it looks tropical in comparison to the nonsense up here!

To be fair, it's been cloudy/misty today and drizzly at times, it has only just started to clear and for the sun to appear.
So the SE corner hasn't had the same weather as wimbledon - 'down south' covers a huge area the same as up north does  ::)

10 years ago tonight we were hay making.   :)

I walked down the track to the fields where the men were finishing off the baling, it was 11.00pm and still light, i was wearing shorts and a tee shirt .  The air was still, warm and thick with the smell of hay.  Bats  were flying about catching moths and i could here owls in the woods.  A magical summer solstice
Its not been like that again.  :(

This evening its cold, dull and damp. Its only 8.22 and the hens have gone to bed already.  What a wash out :( What a disappointing summer solstice once again :(

Yea, fair play. Apologies - I hate it when people talk of up north so generally.  I'm just at my wits end here though.  Worst two winters in memory, no decent summer for years, and by far and away the worst may on record, and now same for June. some of the trees look like its autumn! I'll stop now...
