Frost? or computer error?
« on: June 08, 2011, 15:34 »
Metcheck is showing -1 tonight in Manchester, can't believe it given the weather we're having here (torrential rain). Maybe this goes along with the 345mph winds they reported a while back

Apart from our own weather station for historical data (which is being built up), I always look at the Met Office first, its where many of them get their data after all.... :)

I agree with argylie, even the local weather station bit.

Metcheck's been rubbish of late.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Where for?

Your location in your profile would help.

Showing 6oC here.

aargh! They've changed it. It's now showing -1c for Sunday.

I think I'll go back to licking my finger and holding it up in the air. It's a bit more stable.

It was showing 'light sleet or snow' for us here in Rugby...!! I've also abandoned Metcheck - mostly because I hate weather-pessimism!!  :D

3C in Derbyshire Saturday night. Is that low enough to affect courgettes, potatoes or peppers?

Yup.

A ground frost can occur when the air temp is below 4 or 5 C.

We're also forecast 4oC.

I've changed my mind about putting out some cucurbits. They can stay nestled by the wall on the driveway until after the weekend. Our plot is quite exposed and even if there's no frost, they're not going to like those temperatures.

I am going to struggle to get everything covered  :(

Lets hope the forecast changes before the weekend; it always does when they predict sunshine!
