Anyone know what these are please?

Other than the weeds and grass, these are the only things that look remotely like a plant, be it fruit or veg, that we inheritted on our new allotment

Any idea what they are and if they can be dug up and moved ok to keep them while we weed the plot?

They have tiny red thin thorns on the stems,

You can move them as they are shallow rooted, and you will think you have got all the roots up BUT they will grow lots of new shoots from the root bits that were left behind  ::)
I'm still pulling them from what is now a flower border 3 years after I moved them

they seem to be raspberries.

BUT they iust also nasty weed which looks like a raspberries too, i know they mixed in with mine as we speak! Last year i massive allergic reaction when i touched the weed.  My whole hand was covered in blisters after one touch.  >:(

So be careful, in now wear hypo allergenic gloves when i go near the raspberries plant.

Mmm I think to be safe I'll start again from fresh and dig them up seeing as they are fairly small plants.

We don't have much else on there that will need a lot of deep digging so the exercise will do the wife some good!!  :tongue2:

maybe dig them up and put them in a pot to see how they turn out.

I did that with some of mine and luckily only  of them turned out to be the nasty weed.
The others i just put back in the ground, and left them to grow agin.

got loads of raspberries of them  :)
