Raining in Derbyshire and lots of cloud cover so they'll be no frost here tonight

 
  Its not raining in this part of Derbyshire.  Im sure we live in the driest area of the midlands. Whenever rain is forcast , it drops off in Burton and surrounding villages (you can see a line across the road) but it doesnt do it here. Im convinced its something to do with being in the middle of the National Forest. It has its own micro climate.

Haven't had any rain worth mentioning down here since March. We have been promised rain for so long I'd forgotten what it looked like  What we did get was barely enough to damp the dust down.

We have now had steady rain for at least the last 6 hours, its wonderful all the plants will be happy. I'm so glad I got most of the weeding done on the plot and some last minute transplanting done yesterday.

Well  BBC weather were correct!! beautiful sunset here last night  and about 1am the wind got up and the heavens have finally opened and hasn't stopped yet.
Can't believe I'm so happy that it's raining.

Heavy rain AGAIN since the early hours but the ground is still surprisingly dry,the dry spring has really taken it's toll.Coupled with the temperature being lower then average the growth this year is pathetic

Had a really heavy downpoor yesterday, which dampened the ground ready for today's nice, gentle(ish) rain which has been coming down since about 7am. Lovely.

As I have posted before, here in North Cheshire we have had rain almost every single day since since the beginning of May

With all the rain we've had in recent weeks, the land was already pretty wet.  The constant rain we've now had all day today, with no sign of stopping, has left my garden completely waterlogged with standing water everywhere.

Amazing that you are on a level with us but we have had really dry weather. Even OH has had more at work, in Chester, than we have.
