Moving Brocolli

Ah the joy of learning..having thought it a good idea to place together in one plot, parsnip, carrot AND brocolli, I now realize that the fleece currently over them will not be big enough to increase the height as the brocolli grows...hmm. So another brainwave..I'll replant the brocolli elsewhere under suitably high netting, good idea? If so, how can I reduce the shock trauma to said brocolli in transplanting? Tips and experienced ideas very welcome.

Water them and wait for it to soak in. Dig them out with as big a lump of soil as you can and replant immediately a little deeper than before. Firm in and water copiously for several days.
