Not laying much
« on: June 02, 2011, 09:19 »
My three older girls had been laying well with 2-3 eggs most days.  But for the last week or so they seem to have stopped curtseying and we're now only getting one egg a day if we're lucky.  They seem happy, talkative and are eating and drinking OK - any suggestions?

What breed are they and how old?

We have a black rock and columbian blacktail who I think are around 7 months and a sablepoot who is one year.  Have had them, and a younger bluebelle who hasn't started laying yet, since March.

They aren't really very old and it could just be them settling down to laying which can be stop start. It may be the egg you are getting is from the one year old. :)

same here i found a stash of 25 eggs from three girls at one each a day thats a weeks worth lol

ps now i have found the nest they have moved and its a regular battle of me spying and them hiding. However, i have sussed it they now lay in the dog basket in the kitchen. The dog is not happy but i have no bruises/scratches/etc

I now need to get myself some ear defenders lol
