Newbie Oxford (Exchequer Leghorn)
« on: May 31, 2011, 23:16 »
Hi all from a Newbie in oxford.
I just got back into chicken keeping after a 15 year brake! As i've now got children of my own and thought it a good family hobbie/pet for the family to get involved in, since i had my own hens as a child/teen with my dad. Well we've since hatched out a batch of Exchequer Leghorns. We now find ourselfs with a spair 8 week old boy who's in the swap section as my children don't want to see him culled. So please have a look, help me out and keep the kids happy. I've added a pic of the lovley little chap.

Have you tried contacting your local poultry club? I've done so in the past when I've had cockerels I can't get rid of and managed to get rid of six so far. I'm not saying they take all, but you may find someone in their membership who shows Exchequers who may appreciate some fresh blood into his/her breeding group.

or try preloved, and also our own classified adverts.
Staffies are softer than you think.

My little cockerel is no longer available as I’ve swapped him with a local chicken breeder/seller for a female 6 week old exchequer leghorn chick. Witch is exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for your reply’s and taking time to read my thread.
