How to make plastic look pretty

At the bottom end of my allotment, I have a huge pile of weeds/soil that I was advised to cover in plastic and leave for a year or so. I have done this and weighted the plastic down with pallets. It's effective but doesn't look great.
We're taking part in 'Open Gardens' next month and I would like to improve the look of i if I can without major effort.
Any ideas?............I was thinking about maybe cutting a few small holes in and planting squashes?

All exactly what I was in the middle of saying when the computer conveniently switched itself off!  Battery being too clever for its own good!
