Resident parsnip expert advice needed!
« on: May 23, 2011, 14:25 »
I have three 10ft rows of Lovely White Gem parsnip seedlings, 3" tall and am wondering if i need to thin them. The packet says to sow 3/4 seeds per station with no need to thin but the NEW packet of the same variety says i should thin..  I'm not after monster snips, just useful roots but will i lose a crop altogether if i leave them be? help please.....

I thin mine to one per station. If you leave more than one in they can get crowded and the roots twisted around each other.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
