cauliflowers gone to seed

Can you supply a few more details please.

Variety?
When planted?
Where planted?
Spacing?

Plus any other growing details which might be relevant.  A picture would be great.

http://www.gourmetseed.com/cauliflower_seed.0.html says it is an old Italian variety so perhaps not best suited for the UK climate.  I can't remember ever seeing a cauliflower run to seed.

Maybe try All The Year Round or check for RHS commended varieties in your seed catalogue.  Also 12" is too close together IMHO.  Try double that.

Had a word with all the other plot holders and there collys have all gone to seed to. Only Gilbert and myself had one a peace, I had one last year to when all the others had one or two each, rest went to seed then to.
Must be the weather as Muntjac say's. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Lots of people on my site are having this same problem, i grew my caulis on the dryer part of my allotment (didnt know this at the time) and they are all forming perfect little cauli's so maybe i was lucky! I use all year round also!
