Flowering onion
« on: May 08, 2011, 17:50 »
Hi,  I have some onions growing from set rather than from seeds...one of them appears to be flowering.  Does this mean I should dig that onion up and use it cos it's come to the end of it's bulb growing state.  I read that it's due to temperature fluctuation, is that right?

Thanks.

Cathy

chop the flower off and leave the onion to continue growing, however these ones should be used first as they do not store well......

I'd typed the same reply almost word for word, but Cooperman just beat me to it, so I didn't post it!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
