I have said this before but it is important.

Any volunteer potato is a suspect source of blight so never leave them to crop.

Also keep an eye open for potatoes growing in compost and rubbish heaps and destroy them. If they are in your neighbours plot try to educate them. If that fails pull them out yourself when they are not around.

Don't think we should be persuading people to pull other peoples plant out do you Salmo.

What happens when your neighbour sees something he doesn't like on your plot, does he have the right to just pull it out too?  ;)

I quite agree with you Stompy! If there's a problem with something on my neighbour's plot I would mention it to them maybe in the form of a question to start with.

I, like most others, would strongly object to anyone pfiddling around with things on my plot!  >:( I respect other peoples patches and expect the same in return. "Trust" is important.  ;)

If there's a problem then I'd want to be advised politely.

Learner, you're right of course, and a chum near me has a problem with mice, which have been breeding under a huge pile of plastic etc., which is - yep - on the adjoining plot...

It's only a short walk!

I'm sure he will Leaner; but as is often pointed out here, diplomacy where gardening is concerned, is much more difficult than dealings between the US and the EU...

I know where I'd rather be - hopefully in a pub in Brussels...;0)

When diplomacy doesn't work - straight talking with a smile can  ;)
