Completed - Garden makeover
« on: May 02, 2011, 18:07 »
Yesssss!!! - Eazy peezy :D

I have today, finished my garden makeover.  A few weeks ago, I decided to have my garden done by having contractors in and making it a Mediterranean style patio with a one step terrace - I got the quote (x 2), looked at the price, fainted, and when straight into Plan 2.

I drew my plan which involved 36 (half) sleepers (easier to manage than full length), I then painted them with fenceguard, dug up the lawn, laid down the sleepers, brought in a couple of ton of topsoil, put down a path, painted the fence, moved a lockable box that I keep my lawn mower in, built a small rockery), made a trellis for the clematis, ordered new turf and laid it.  Oh, and tidied up my little patio area and voila - done  - and sorry, for some reason, I can't download any photos - I did befores and afters - and the total cost of my Plan covered what would have been the VAT on Plan 1.  And I should say, even though I put "I" in everything, by OH did help

Even though it took over 3 weeks, when totalled altogether in one go, it probably would have taken me less than a week - I ordered as I needed and the delivery dates made it take longer.  By the way, the sleepers were used to make raised beds around the lawn, and they make fabulous benches for when you have friends around for BBQs, etc :D

Sounds really impressive with all that hard work.  I, too, look forward to seeing the photos  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
