Help, frost predicted
« on: May 02, 2011, 09:31 »
I am a bit of a beginner with my veg plot (containers on the patio and a few raised beds) and am unsure what plants most need protection from a frost at this time of year.

So far I have peas (first time ever), leafy salad, coriander, pak choi, carrots and potatoes and asparagus.

Where should I put my fleece?

 What a spring it has been, I have just seen my robin feeding 2 fair size chicks and it is only just May!!

the potatoes will need covering, if you can't earth them up any more.
I don't grow coriander, so don't know about that, but the rest will be ok.

A light frost should be OK. but if you only have a pot full you could cover it "just in case".
