Salsify in today...

I've always liked salsify. It can be a s** to grow, and a fussy so-and-so to bring on and also harvest, but when you get it right, it's a great veg, and well worth the effort...

Mrs Growster is reserving her judgement this time, but I'd always listen to anyone else's tips on getting the perfect root. The black bleeding etc., is par for the course, but my soil is a bit sparse at the moment, so we'll just have to wait and see won't we!
