My budget, it will need to be cheaper than that. Knew I saw something about cycle trailer though.

Perhaps someone has a used one on ebay. Questionable how much use it would get, I might never get up some of the hills in Wycombe with it.

Excavator, at £150 it might still be cheaper than the length of hose I would need to reach from the standpipe. Don't suppose you got what it was called? Never know might see one second hand, or at auction.

My trailer is only a cheap option if it is in place of a car or van. It has saved us thousands of litres of petrol over the years as well as tax and insurance. We have the added advantage of living somewhere relatively flat and are very regular (everyday) cyclists.

Maybe you could rig up a simple frame and use a pair of unwanted bike wheels to make a water carrier using the sort of readily available plastic water bag used by campers?

Instead of towing the trailer behind a bicycle walking might be an alternative.

I was not necessarily thinking water on the bike trailer, probably more the various bits one gets off freecycle. I am an everyday cyclist, Wycombe with its hills, I regularly find I have to get off and push. Your trailer looks good.

Worth every penny - we couldn't manage without one.

My OH has a trailer called a "Donkey" - again two wheels but with a very solid body and more up-right. I also have a one-wheeler which is handy for lighter loads and nipping through traffic in town. It hitches to the rear axle and is very easy to use.

This was an old one - probably for sale as a garden ornament / architecture rather than the purpose for which it was originally intended. As such, it didn't have any name or description. Can tell you where it is if you're interested - I'm not 100% about the price, but I know I thought it was expensive. They might be open to offers  ;)

We have one of these at work http://www.kmsdirect.co.uk/webshop/products.php?product=Garden-Trolley-Barrow-with-FREE-Shelf-%26-Interliner (from someones garden, my guess), I think could be a good all rounder. Not too heavy, maybe I could find a way of hooking it on my bike. If nothing else, certainly get things to and from the allotment.

Ex-cavator, I am interested though unless it was quite near here I would probably not be able to get it. Curiousity alone might get me to go look at it though.

FInally found one on the internet, if usable £150 might not be a bad price.

Did it have pneumatic wheels?

If it didn't I would never get it along the path to the allotment site.

I would be really worried about it getting nicked at these prices mind.

This and a decent bike cargo trailer and you'd be set up for years! In fact a trailer would take two without difficulty.
