growing under fleece through summer?
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:50 »
Hi,

I managed to buy a couple of very cheap fleece tunnels at B&Q last year  :)

Is there any veg I can grow in the tunnels throughout summer so I can get maximum use out of them?  I thought about putting in a couple of squash plants but my neighbour seems to think it will be too hot for anything to survive in them all summer.

Seems a shame to only use them for a couple of months a year!

Thanks

The trouble with growing squash or watermelon under fleece would be problems with pollination. Bees etc need full access to the flowers, unless you are going to hand pollinate every female flower.
