Autumn raspberry runners

I had a large piece of black pond liner left over from making my pond and buried a length of it vertically to a depth of about 18" and about 2' away from the row to form a continuous barrier.

Up to now it has worked (raspberries are fairly shallow-rooted) - I believe some people have used things like corrugated plastic to do the same job.

I could only do it one side of the row unfortunately as I have a path the other side and yes, they sucker up beyond the path as well (just have to hoe them off when they appear.)

(My current record for a raspberry sucker is about 10' away from the nearest plant!) 

I grow mine in large containers. Runners are dug out,potted on and given to anyone who wants them (I've run out of room).
