Round worm [WARNING pic included]
« on: April 14, 2011, 06:01 »
I started worming my pullets this morning with Moxidecten in their water.  This afternoon I saw Pearl (a Light Sussex) do a poo and thought I saw something white move in it.  Sure enough it was a round worm.  :tongue2:

As you can see in the photo below, it was approximately 7 cm long and looked like a piece of white thread.  It was moving (slowly) for a couple of minutes after she expelled it.

Sorry about the poor quality of the photo.  I had to take it using my phone as today (of all days) hubby has the camera.

Brilliant photo Lindeggs, I will see if Aunty can copy it and add it to the pooh pictures if you don't mind  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

I don't mind at all.  Aunty can have it.  :tongue2: Just as long as she keeps it away from my chickens!

My pleasure Aunt Sally.

Well actually... I think I've got a fairly strong stomach  but getting up close and personal with parasitic worms has taken me right out of my comfort zone.   ???  I'm not finding the worming experience pleasurable at all.  :tongue2:

When I took in a stray kitten, he was given a strong wormer by the vet because he was ion poor condition, and for the next 24 hours his entire poos were masses and masses of worms *bork*

What a lovely subject. I am glad I had my tea a while ago..

The animals in question must feel a lot better now they have got rid of their passengers.

Keep up the good work!
