onion help please

im just looking to order my onion sets, is there any that store better-grow to a better size ?

just wonder what people recomend as its my fist time growing onions

all the ones i have seen come in 200g packs, any idea how many sets that would be?

For spring planting? Autumn-sown sets don't store well

oh, i realy wanted to put some in soon, i can just put a few in then rather than a few rows maybe

Sow enough japanese onion sets in Autumn to provide you with fresh onions between July and September the following year. By Sept, you will be using the 'problem' onions from spring-sown sets (problem meaning bolted, divided, thick neck etc which will not store).

October to June you will be eating spring-sown onions which have stored well. Usual choice for spring-sown is Sturon or Stuttgarter.

I'd expect a 200gm pack to contain approx 40 sets but check with the seller since it will vary widely, e.g. by variety. Remember to allow for losses.
