Hi Linda and welcome.  :)

It sounds like you are going to need to do some very careful behaviour management if the other chickens managed to peck each other to death.   :(

Firstly, what kind of setup do you have - what type and size of coop and run?  It will be essential if you're going to get new chickens that everyone has room to get away from each other, and that their living conditions are not adding to their stress.

How many chickens did you have before?  And when did they die?

Presumably this last remaining chicken must have been the main culprit in pecking the others, so it's possible she may be quite agressive towards other hens.

I would suggest some major changes may need to be done before you try adding more chickens.  Hopefully we will be able to help you identify the changes needed, so you will have a much more positive experience second time round.  :)

I agree with Lindeggs - it's important to find out what went wrong last time, otherwise the poor creatures will probably suffer the same fate  :(  Even if you rehomed your existing hen you may well end up with the same problems with a new flock.

There's a wealth of information on here and plenty of brains to pick, so don't be afraid to ask!  :)

most chicken coops with built n runs are not big enough for as many hens as they say.
The coop itself is no doubt big enough but look at the run. can you not allow them to free range ? Or build a bigger run around the existing coop? can you post a picture of your set up or give us some dimentions ?
Also are you sure it was the pecking that killed the others ? keep on top of wormng and check for red mites in the coop.
good luck with any new hens.   :)
