Hi, My chickens keep eating every plant i try and put into their run so its always bare. Does anyone know of anything i can plant to cheer up their run, attract bugs and insects for the to eat and anything that i definatly shouldn't put in???

Alison - I do not know about anyone else but my hens will eat anything that is in their run and yours sound just about normal.    You could put in boxes or similar for them to climb on, or hang cabbages from ropes for them to peck at. I am sure that other poster will have different ideas.

I have quite successfully grown conifers in my chicken run. They are about 3 foot tall and the chucks do not seem to bother them.

I had a good sized hypericum shrub in my hen run which they didn't eat.  They liked to shelter under there when it rained

You could possiby rotate lots of potted plants, but tbh, they're going to destroy everything they have acces too for more than a few days.
