Got a huge amount of greenstuff over the top of my bucket of maincrop spuds.
Short of having a rummage, how do I know when they are ready to be lifted ?

Go on, have a rummage!!!

With maincrop, they are usually ready when the green stuff (haulms die down), but have a little dig around, if the potatoes feel okay, dig em up, or if they feel small still, cover them back up for a bit longer!  Just don't leave any showing above ground, or they'll go green!
