been at plot today to do some tidying and came home with about 3lb of runners,broad beans,celery,and yellow cougettes,not bad really as i was thinking there would be nothing to harvest today.my sweetcorn is a bit disappointing though at only abot 3 ft,looks about a month or so behind,hopefully a bit more sun should help it along.old guy on next plot took kids for a nature trail of the allotment orchard and they came back stuffing their little faces with greengages ,so that kept them happy
going now to cut and blanch my runners

Yes I just came on here tonight to share in my pride at picking my first cob of corn.  Grew it from a wrinkly old seed.  My girls' faces lit up when I brought it back.

i spent a couple of hours at my plot today too - first time for a week

i gave away some strawberry plants - got a promise on some dahlia tubers and harvested:

some non blighted toms  
carrots
parsnips
chillies
broccolli
beetroot
peas
dwarf and runner beans .....again
cucumber and the last of my spring onions.

i've just finished my dindins tonight (roasted freerange - dads homegrown chook) with lottie veg - if you count what was in the stock - i used 14 different veg - you can't beat a bit of home grown
