Sharks Fin Melon

Hooray, I have found some of those elusive SFM seeds from the 'Grow Your Own' fillum - I only have 5 mind, so will be sowing them very carefully today and looking after them as my own children 

I'll keep you up to date with my progress.

Looking forward to making 'wonderous soup'! 

Thanks for the advice, maybe I'll save them a couple more weeks for during the Easter hols then.

I'm sure you've thought of this but make sure you save some seed from the fruits.

no sharks fin squash are cucurbita ficifolia (fig leafed squash)  spaghetti squash are cucurbita pepo.

Update; well, the plants in the polytunnel are by far doing better, they are really starting to scramble around the ground and up the cucumber supports - the ones outside are slower and not so well developed.

There is a little melon fruit on an inside plant, about the size of a 50p piece, how exciting!!

As soon as we get our new little camera/video thingy from Amazon, I'll try and get a pic loaded up.
