I've had an idea. ...... Re feather eating girl
« on: March 29, 2011, 00:26 »
As you may have reAd I'm having feather eating problems with one of my girls - we are going away Thursday for a few days and I am terrified that the problem will seriously get out of hand. I've been looking into separating her but that causes problems with her care, being let out and locked away etc each day. So I was thinking about boarding her while we are away ,  I realise that this will most likely upset her laying but thats no problem, what I am worried about is her return as I presume the girls will oh forgotten her. By her return the beak rings should be here too.

Basically is this a feasible idea?  I know a local place that boards chickens.

Thanks

I thought it may have to be the way to go, but wondered what people thought about taking her out and then putting her back.

If the beak rings come i'm tempted to just leave her here though.  Anti peck spray came today so they are all wearing a new perfume, although i didnt find this one that strong smelling so maybe back to the drawing board with that..
