Pheasants - to peck or not to peck...

There is a coven of pheasants living near the allotments here, and a couple of males actually came and sat right next to me within touching distance when I was sitting on a low box, clouting the couch grass a few weeks ago.

Some plot holders say they eat their crops, others say they don't.

Any views anyone?

Not true, pheasants like pigeons are fussy and will always go for the very best of your veg.

Both will get about half a pint of seedling leaves into their crops before  they are full and they can do this three times a day.
