I think a few people on here claim it works just fine.

I personally harbour *some* reservation, Enviromesh and the like allows a reasonable amount of rain water through the mesh into the soil underneath, I can *imagine* (no experience though) that net curtaining will allow the water to wick and seep down around the edges rather than falling through. It must be worth a punt, though, if you have some spare.

Preston eh?, which site?, I'm on Penwortham Holme West.

I use old voile nets with no problem, just be aware that it only lasts a couple of years, while enviromesh lasts for a lot longer.
It's often free so gives you time to save up for the real thing :D (but don't use the flowery sort that often has bigger holes!)
Rain gets through, just as it gets through fleece :)

We're on the Penwortham Allotments, behind the Bridge Inn.

Thanks everyone - we hadsome white voile left over from our wedding, so we're using that.  It wouldn't have been used or anything else so why not, eh?
